Los People’s Choice Awards, que se distinguen porque sus ganadores los elige el público, celebraron este domingo su edición 2024 en el Barker Hangar de Santa Mónica, California, donde se premió a lo mejor del año en cine, música, televisión y cultura pop.
Para los People’s Choice Awards 2024 el número de categorías se amplió a 45. Barbie ganó el premio de película del año, Grey’s Anatomy fue elegido programa de televisión del año y GUTS, de Olivia Rodrigo, se coronó como el álbum del año.
El actor Simu Liu fue el encargado de presentar los premios en los que Lenny Kravitz, después de ofrecer una actuación que abarcó toda su carrera, recibió el galardón Music Icon y el actor Adam Sandler subió al escenario para recibir el People’s Icon Award.
“Esto es un poco humillante porque mi agente me dijo, ganaste el premio a ‘ícono del año’ y como estaba manejando, pensé que había dicho que era al hombre más sexy de la revista People”, bromeó Sandler en su discurso de agradecimiento.
“No quería recibir este premio sin devolverle algo a la comunidad y quiero recordarles que por favor aprovechen todo su potencial”, señaló el actor tras recibir el galardón de manos de Jennifer Aniston, quien ha coprotagonizado con él tres películas.
