El camino que nos lleva rumbo a los Óscar no es una línea recta, y entre medias tenemos una serie de premiaciones para disfrutar y que también reúnen a lo mejor de la industria del cine. Por supuesto, hablamos de los premios BAFTA 2024, que tuvieron lugar este domingo 18 de febrero en el Royal Festival Hall de Londres, Inglaterra.
Con 13 nominaciones, «Oppenheimer» se postulaba como una de las favoritas de la noche, y en efecto, lo logró, obteniendo un total de siete premios, incluido el de Mejor película y Mejor Director para Christopher Nolan; tampoco podemos olvidar la actuación de Cillian Murphy, quien se consagró como el Mejor Actor.

Sin embargo, quizás una de las mayores sorpresas de la noche fue la destacada participación de «Poor Things» (Pobres Criaturas) que logró obtener cinco galardones durante la premiación, entre ellos el de Emma Stone como Mejor Actriz, posicionándose delante de Lily Gladstone a pocas semanas de iniciar los Óscar.
Por otra parte, la película de Martin Scorsese, así como la de “Barbie”, no lograron los reconocimientos esperados, al igual que “La Sociedad de la Nieve”, que tampoco pudo repetir el éxito que logró durante la gala de los Goya en España, y “Saltburn”.
